Event: Meet the Author

Meet the Author(s) of Donkey Books at Allotment Garden Association TIG's Open Day!

Come visit us on Sunday, June 15th, during the enjoyable Open Day of Allotment Garden Association TIG at Bickershof in Heemskerk! This is a unique opportunity to personally meet the author(s) behind the books of Donkey Books, all within a beautiful, park-like environment that will undoubtedly inspire both gardening and writing.

Our writers will be there that day, eager to talk about:

  • Their books: Dive deeper into the stories and discover the inspiration behind Donkey Books’ publications, including our popular ‘Fiction & Facts’ series.
  • Writing as a hobby: Hear what it’s like to combine writing with other pursuits and get a peek behind the scenes of the creative process.
  • Your questions: Have you always wanted to know something about a specific book, the research, or the writing process? This is your chance to ask all your questions!
  • Book signing: Of course, there will also be an opportunity to have your copy of a Donkey Books title signed by the author. A unique memento!

The Open Day of Allotment Garden Association TIG promises to be a wonderful and inspiring day, perfect to combine with a visit to our authors. We look forward to seeing you there!

Update: More to experience on June 15th!

Besides the “Meet the Author” event at Donkey Books during the TIG Allotment Garden Association’s Open Day, there’s much more to discover on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Tuinpark Bickershof in Heemskerk!

We’d like to draw your attention to a wonderful initiative by Loes van Dam, who will also be present that day with a special fundraising campaign for War Child. Loes is selling various valuable garden items, artworks, a Douglas lounger, and decorations, all due to the termination of her garden lease. By giving her belongings a second life, she’s contributing to a beautiful cause: War Child, an organization dedicated to supporting children affected by war.

This offers an excellent opportunity to grab unique items for your garden or home while simultaneously supporting a good cause. Don’t miss this chance to both meet your favorite authors and contribute to a better future for children in conflict zones!

Come to Bickershof on June 15th and enjoy a day full of inspiration, encounters, and the opportunity to make a difference!
