Donkey Books
Donkey Books was founded on January 1, 2024 with the aim of self-publishing our publications. The name refers to the place Heemskerk (Netherlands), where Donkey Books was founded. People from Heemskerk are nicknamed Donkey because some gardeners brought their products to the auction in Beverwijk in donkey carts around 1900.
Emilia Voortman
Emilia Voortman (2004); founder / owner / author. Emilia made her debut in 2024 with her English novel Poveglia’s Plague Doctor. Her interest lies mainly in English psychological horror.
Ronald Voortman
Ronald Voortman (1967); founder / owner / author. Ronald is an amateur historian / genealogist and writer. His publications are the result of many years of research in archives and literature. His specialty lies with migrants from the Osnabrücker Nordland in Holland in the 18th century. In 2024, he combined facts with fiction for the first time with his book Uitgevlogen Ziel, in which the history of the common man was revived.
