About us

Our name, Donkey Books, isn't just a quirky choice. It's a nod to our hometown's rich history. Back in the early 1900s, the hardworking gardeners of Heemskerk, affectionately nicknamed "Donkeys," brought their produce to the Beverwijk auction using donkey carts. That spirit of dedication and community fuels everything we do. We established Donkey Books with the specific goal of self-publishing our authors' publications, ensuring their creative vision remains untarnished. We're proud of our roots, enthusiastic about our authors, and committed to bringing their exceptional books to you.

Donkey Books

At Donkey Books, we’re more than just an independent publishing house – we’re a passionate advocate for the author’s vision. Founded on January 1, 2024, in the heart of Heemskerk, Netherlands, our mission is clear: to champion unique voices and bring their stories to the world. We believe deeply in the value of our books, and we’re driven by the joy of connecting those stories with their perfect audience.
