Wer die Entwicklung der Bauerschaften nach 1700 weiterverfolgen möchte, stößt unweigerlich auf das Jahr 1722. Unter Fürstbischof Ernst August II. entstand eine präzise Momentaufnahme der Artländer Kulturlandschaft: die “Erneuerten Grundstücks- und Abgabenverzeichnisse der schatzpflichtigen Stätten”.
In der Forschung zur Siedlungsgeschichte fungiert dieses Register als unverzichtbarer Fixpunkt.
Was macht diese Quelle so einmalig?
🔹 Pazellengenauigkeit: Flurnamen, Landnutzung (Saatland, Wiese, Weide, Holtzung) und Flächengrößen wurden Hof für Hof akribisch erfasst.
🔹 Mathematische Präzision: Vermessen mit der Osnabrücker Ruthe (1 Ruthe = 21,84 m²), bieten die Akten das mathematische Fundament für moderne Arealvergleiche.
🔹 Soziale Schichtung: Die Daten offenbaren exakt die Besitzunterschiede zwischen den Erbesklassen innerhalb der Bauerschaften.
